Gorman, who currently serves as the association's secretary/treasurer, has been a fixture on the ENA Board of Directors for five years. Her background includes extensive work with the organization’s Global Advisory and ED Leadership committees. She is set to succeed Chris Parker, who steps into the role of president for 2027. Following her term as president-elect, Gorman will assume the presidency in 2028.
Reflecting on the milestone, Gorman noted that her election signals a shift in the organization's reach, proving that leadership in emergency nursing is not confined by geography. The election results were unveiled during the Emergency Nursing 2026 conference in Phoenix, where members also finalized the selection of several key leadership roles. Tyler Babcock of New Jersey was elected as the new secretary/treasurer, while Heidi Gilbert and Heather Knapp joined the Board of Directors. The association also appointed four new members to the Leadership Development and Elections Committee representing various regions and member categories.
