The upgrade focuses on optimizing how aligners interact with the tooth surface. By moving away from hand-made dimples, the company aims to standardize force distribution, allowing for more consistent results across diverse patient cases. The new configuration provides a 25% increase in tooth surface contact when paired with scalloped trimline options, facilitating more precise movement control.
Initially deployed for torque corrections, the technology is slated for expansion into rotation and intrusion adjustments. Xavier Cherbavaz, General Manager for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, stated that the development follows a long-term research trajectory aimed at solving persistent clinical hurdles for orthodontists. While currently limited to a single configuration in the European market, the company plans to broaden availability and integration options as it scales the digital manufacturing process.
