Nakamura describes his character—a sorcerer serving the Kamunabi organization—as a realist who maintains a dry, detached demeanor. In comments released alongside the casting news, the actor noted that he approached the role by focusing on how Azami balances against the series' other personalities. He praised the source material for capturing the modern spirit of Weekly Shonen Jump, highlighting its blend of intense action and intricate worldbuilding.
The production, handled by animation studio Cypic under director Tetsuya Takeuchi, is currently adapting Takeru Hokazono’s manga, which has already surpassed 4.5 million copies in circulation. Joining Nakamura in the ensemble are Taihi Kimura as the protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira, along with Katsuyuki Konishi and Miku Ito. The series is scheduled to begin its broadcast and streaming run in April 2027, with platforms including Crunchyroll and MUSE attached to the project.
