Abuzaina moves into the top role after serving as worldwide vice president and general manager of Advanced Repair and Reconstruction. Since joining the firm in 2013, he has held various leadership positions spanning research, strategy, and business development. Menziuso cited these internal contributions, noting Abuzaina’s role in shaping the current innovation pipeline and driving commercial execution as key factors for his promotion.

His technical background includes a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering, complemented by an MBA from the University of Connecticut. In this new capacity, he is tasked with sustaining the growth trajectory of the Surgery unit while continuing to integrate new clinical solutions into the company’s broader medical technology portfolio.
