Reliever Debuts AI Back-Office Platform for Youth Sports

Volunteer treasurers at youth sports associations often manage thousands of dollars using manual, fragmented systems that invite burnout and financial risk. Minneapolis-based startup Reliever is aiming to modernize this infrastructure with an AI-native platform designed to automate banking, bookkeeping, and compliance for community sports organizations nationwide.

The platform functions as a centralized hub that bridges the gap left by registration and scheduling tools, which typically overlook the complex financial reality of running a league. By integrating insured operating accounts with automated spend policies and virtual cards, Reliever enables boards to track budgets against actuals in real-time. This system generates accessible financial statements, simplifying the transition for new board members who previously faced the daunting task of deciphering disorganized shoebox records.

Beyond basic bookkeeping, the tool addresses the high-stakes compliance environment of youth athletics. It handles tax filings, such as 990s, and maintains audit-ready trails that protect organizations from fraud. CEO Jason Campana, who previously led the wellness tech company Wellbeats to a successful exit, developed the software after experiencing the administrative burden firsthand as a volunteer coach. Early adopters, including the Stillwater Area Youth Hockey Association, have begun utilizing the system to reduce manual labor, allowing volunteers to shift their focus from accounting to program development.
