MintNeuro Secures $5 Million to Scale Neural Interface Chips

London-based MintNeuro has raised $5 million to transition from experimental silicon to commercial-scale production. The funding round, led by Odyssey Ventures, aims to replace generic components in medical implants and wearables with specialized semiconductor platforms, potentially slashing development timelines for companies targeting conditions like Parkinson’s and treatment-resistant depression.

The capital injection brings together a coalition of deep tech and medtech investors, including 33East, JSK Investments, and Alumni Ventures. With working silicon already in the hands of partners like Motif Neurotech and Amber Therapeutics, the firm is moving to expand its engineering team and fortify its presence in both the UK and the United States.

Historically, the neurotechnology sector has faced a bottleneck: developers were forced to choose between off-the-shelf components ill-suited for the body or the high cost and long lead times of custom chip design. MintNeuro’s modular architecture addresses this by integrating neural sensing, signal processing, and stimulation into a single platform. By streamlining these core functions, the company enables faster transitions from research labs to clinical deployment, setting the stage to become the standard hardware foundation for the next generation of brain-computer interfaces and bioelectronic medicines.
