Taka-Q Posts 283 Million Yen Loss as Revenue Slides

A net loss of 283 million yen for the half-year ending August 31 marks a sharp reversal for Taka-Q Co. Ltd., which reported a modest profit of 1 million yen during the same period last year. The results reflect a difficult stretch for the Japanese retailer as revenue dropped to 3.85 billion yen.

Taka-Q Posts 283 Million Yen Loss as Revenue Slides

The company’s latest financial statement shows operating losses reaching 239 million yen, compared to a thin operating profit of 3 million yen in 2025. Pretax figures similarly moved into the red at 201 million yen, a significant downturn from the 64 million yen profit recorded previously. Per share earnings have plummeted to a loss of 7.46 yen, worsening from the 0.34 yen loss seen during the prior year’s half-year mark.

Management has opted to suspend dividend payments for the midyear period, maintaining a trend of zero payouts across the fiscal calendar. These figures, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, underscore the mounting pressure on the firm’s bottom line as consumer demand and operational costs continue to weigh on performance.
