Kansas Inventor Proposes On-Board Generator for Electric Vehicles

Seeking to bypass the constraints of public charging infrastructure, a Wichita-based inventor has developed the Pit Bull Generator Kit. The patent-pending system serves as an auxiliary power source designed to charge electric vehicle batteries while the car is in motion or parked, effectively extending driving range on demand.

The device aims to solve the primary friction point for EV owners: the necessity of stopping for extended recharge periods. By integrating the generator directly onto the vehicle, the design allows for continuous energy replenishment, theoretically eliminating reliance on external charging stations during transit. The hardware is engineered for compatibility with both new and pre-owned electric models, positioning it as a potential aftermarket addition or a factory-installed component for automotive manufacturers.

The concept is currently managed by InventHelp, a firm specializing in invention submission services, which is actively seeking licensing agreements or outright sales to industry marketers. Interested parties can contact the company’s Pittsburgh office at 412-288-1300, referencing project number 24-MHO-556, to discuss the technical specifications or commercial acquisition of the patent.
