The project represents a significant expansion for the energy firm, with the unnamed hyperscaler acting as both the primary financial backer and the intended recipient of the generated power. Under the terms of the agreement, this partner will reimburse approximately 90% of BKV’s long-lead procurement costs incurred through March 31, 2027.
Logistics for the project remain on a multi-year timeline, with the first equipment deliveries scheduled to commence in September 2028. By offloading the vast majority of procurement financial risks to its tech partner, BKV gains a stabilized path toward deploying the 1,200-megawatt capacity in the Texas energy market.
