Esaote will maintain its operational independence, continuing to leverage its expertise in ultrasound and open MRI systems. CEO Franco Fontana remains at the helm of the company, which reported 267 million euros in revenue for the 2025 fiscal year. Under the new ownership, the firm plans to accelerate product development and shorten innovation cycles by tapping into the broader technology ecosystem and global distribution network of its parent company.
For Midea, the deal serves as a cornerstone for its expansion into the global medical imaging market. By merging Esaote’s specialized diagnostic portfolio with its own existing range of high-field MRI, CT, and DSA equipment, the group aims to offer a more diversified suite of medical technologies. Midea, which generated 64.3 billion dollars in global revenue in 2025, views the acquisition as a long-term commitment to scaling high-potential medical innovations for international markets.
