Guideline Debuts AI Agent to Automate Media Plan Data Entry

Agencies and brands managing over $300 billion in media spend face a persistent bottleneck: manually re-entering disparate spreadsheet data into central systems. New York-based Guideline aims to eliminate this friction with its newly launched AI Ingestion Agent, which converts varied file formats into structured, governed data in seconds.

The tool functions by reading existing Excel or CSV files and automatically mapping columns to a client's specific templates. To maintain accuracy, the system flags ambiguous fields for human verification, ensuring no data enters the platform without a planner’s final approval. Once processed, the information becomes immediately available for budget tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.

Guideline CEO Vincent Mifsud emphasized that the speed of converting spreadsheets into governed data is critical for organizations to measure and improve their advertising investments. By design, the agent does not use customer data to train AI models, and it enforces enterprise controls by saving each upload as a new version rather than overwriting historical work. While the current release focuses on creating new plans from scratch, the company plans to introduce bulk-importing and update capabilities in future iterations. The feature is available immediately to enterprise customers, allowing teams to integrate the software without altering their existing planning workflows.
