The documentary breaks from traditional chronological storytelling by utilizing a dual-track approach that interweaves historical milestones with contemporary diplomatic practice. Beginning with the 1945 signing of the UN Charter and the 1971 restoration of China’s seat, the series tracks Beijing’s evolving role within the international system. It focuses on the "Hehe" concept—a philosophy centered on harmony and cooperation—as the primary lens for examining China’s current engagement with the world.

The production moves beyond document interpretation by grounding abstract diplomatic concepts in individual stories and field-based case studies. It specifically aims to clarify the framework of the Global Development, Security, Civilization, and Governance initiatives. By combining historical records with international perspectives, the series seeks to communicate the vision of a shared human future to a global audience. Viewers can watch the series on CCTV-4 starting at 8:00 p.m. local time.
