The initiative addresses the friction between convenience and data security. Giorgos Zacharia, co-founder and co-CEO of Insurify, emphasized that delegating complex tasks to software should not force users to sacrifice oversight of their personal information or coverage details. Poppy provides a framework where agents must identify themselves, consumers explicitly approve access, and carriers define boundaries for automated interactions.
Insurify plans to advocate for insurance-specific safeguards within the protocol. These include preserving critical data—such as deductibles, eligibility requirements, and coverage limits—during the quote process. The company also seeks to curb automated quoting practices that inflate costs without providing genuine value to the user. This move aligns with Insurify’s existing strategy, which already incorporates AI-driven tools like its ChatGPT plugin to offer personalized quotes while maintaining a clear path to purchase through licensed professionals.
