Lake George RV Park Marks 60 Years with Dual State Honors

After six decades of operation, the Adirondack-based Lake George RV Park has concluded its anniversary season by securing two top statewide awards. Campground Owners of New York recently named the resort the best in the state for both its recreational amenities and its pet-friendly facilities, as voted by campers.

The family-owned destination, which spans 130 acres, currently features 370 full-hookup RV sites alongside luxury cabins and rental trailers. Since its founding in 1966 by Victor and Jessica King, the park has transitioned from a basic camping spot into a resort-style experience. Today, the facility includes heated pools, indoor theaters, and Charlie’s Bark Park—a two-acre space dedicated to canine guests. For current president David King, the recent recognition underscores a long-standing commitment to listening to guest feedback and continuous reinvestment.

While the park has officially closed its 2026 season, the focus has shifted toward the upcoming year. Reservations for the 2027 season are already open as the management prepares for its 61st year of operation. The King family maintains that the core of their business remains unchanged: providing a space for families to gather and build traditions across generations. Many visitors who originally arrived at the site as children now return with their own families, a trend the owners cite as the true measure of their success over the last six decades.
