U.S. Crude Inventories Poised for Fifth Weekly Draw

A survey of nine analysts and traders suggests U.S. commercial crude oil inventories slipped by 200,000 barrels for the week ending October 30. If confirmed by the Energy Information Administration on Wednesday, this result would mark the fifth consecutive week of declining stockpiles in a market characterized by divergent forecasts.

U.S. Crude Inventories Poised for Fifth Weekly Draw

The average estimate places total crude stocks at 410.4 million barrels, though opinions remain fractured. Projections from industry participants range widely, from a robust 4.2 million barrel build to a 3 million barrel withdrawal. This uncertainty reflects broader volatility in energy supply chains as market participants track shifts in product demand.

Gasoline inventories are anticipated to rise by 200,000 barrels to 209.4 million barrels, while distillate stocks, primarily diesel, are expected to contract by 1 million barrels to 101.8 million barrels. Meanwhile, refinery operations are projected to tick upward by 0.1 percentage point, reaching 92.9% capacity. The official data release scheduled for 10:30 a.m. EST will provide the final benchmark for these estimates.
