A sharp contraction in earnings defined the first half of the fiscal year for TV Tokyo Holdings, as net profit dropped to 1.90 billion yen from 4.95 billion yen a year earlier. TV Tokyo Holdings Net Profit Plummets to 1.9 Billion Yen

Revenue for the six-month span slipped to 75.20 billion yen, down from the 79.98 billion yen reported in the same period of 2025. The impact on profitability was more pronounced, with operating profit falling to 2.47 billion yen against the 7.06 billion yen recorded in the prior year.

Pretax profit followed a similar downward trajectory, settling at 2.74 billion yen compared to 7.31 billion yen last year. Consequently, earnings per share for the group have been diluted to 71.43 yen, a significant retreat from the 186.21 yen per share achieved during the previous half-year term. These figures, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, underscore a challenging fiscal environment for the media corporation.
