Kyodo Paper Holdings Deepens Half-Year Losses

Kyodo Paper Holdings reported a net loss of 37 million yen for the six-month period ending September 30, a significant widening from the 8 million yen loss recorded during the same interval last year. The decline reflects persistent pressure on the Japanese paper distributor's bottom line despite shifts in operating performance.

Revenue for the period slipped to 7.93 billion yen, down from 8.08 billion yen a year earlier. While the company managed to swing to an operating profit of 42 million yen—compared to a 29 million yen loss in the previous year—and achieved a pretax profit of 57 million yen, these gains were insufficient to offset broader financial headwinds. The resulting loss per share hit 56.17 yen, increasing from the 12.01 yen loss reported in 2025. These figures were prepared in accordance with Japanese accounting standards.
