Dofo Tea Reimagines Centuries-Old Rituals for Modern Kitchens

In Chaozhou, the ancestral home of Teochew Gongfu Tea, Dofo Tea has unveiled a top-to-bottom packaging redesign aimed at demystifying China’s complex tea culture. The brand, led by third-generation artisan Xu Jiahua, is trading traditional exclusivity for a tactile, color-coded experience designed to integrate seamlessly into the daily routines of global consumers.

The refresh replaces opaque, intimidating labeling with a distinct color-coded system, ensuring drinkers can identify specific varieties at a glance. Beyond aesthetics, the packaging features a lift-top mechanism engineered to force a pause, framing the act of opening a box as the opening movement of the Gongfu ritual itself. Each unit is finished with a satin ribbon, positioning the product as a gift-ready object rather than a mere commodity.

Behind these design choices remains the rigorous standard set by Xu Jiahua, a government-certified Senior Tea Taster from Phoenix Mountain. His oversight has earned the company international recognition, including a Gold Medal at the AVPA Paris Gourmet International Tea Contest. By pairing this artisanal pedigree with more accessible presentation, the brand seeks to bridge the gap between UNESCO-listed heritage and the modern kitchen. To mark the transition, the company is offering a 20% discount on orders alongside free shipping for U.S. customers.
