Healthconnect Texas Launches Houston Hub to Scale Integrated Care

Under the canopy of Houston’s Kirby Drive, Healthconnect Texas opened its new headquarters this week, signaling a shift toward a unified digital infrastructure for the state. The move follows the organization’s recent merger with the Patient Care Intervention Center, creating a massive network serving 27 million residents.

The new 3701 Kirby Dr. facility serves as a physical manifestation of the organization's mission to bridge the gap between clinical data and social services. By integrating health information exchange with community-based referral systems, the nonprofit aims to provide a holistic view of patient needs across Texas. CEO Junaid Husain described the office as a central hub designed to convene healthcare providers, public health departments, and social service agencies under one roof.

This consolidation is intended to move beyond traditional data silos. Chief Product Officer Kallol Mahata noted that the network’s current scale—the largest of its kind in the state—is meant to transform raw information into actionable care coordination. As partners toured the space, the focus remained on the logistical challenge of linking academic research, government agencies, and community organizations to address the social determinants of health. The facility will function as a collaborative space for these stakeholders to refine the digital tools that support whole-person care.
