China’s Low-Altitude Economy Showcase Highlights Flight Innovation

Tracking faint mobile signals to locate disaster survivors, a search-and-rescue payload from the Henan Low-Altitude Economy Development Group represents the practical edge of China’s expanding aviation sector. At the China International Supply Chain Expo, industry players are proving that flight technology extends far beyond the airframe itself.

The Zhejiang industry pavilion anchors this vision with a 50-meter manned airship designed by the China Special Vehicle Research Institute. With a capacity for 10 passengers and a 700-kilometer range, the craft utilizes a rotatable propulsion system for precision hovering during sightseeing or emergency missions. Alongside such hardware, Huasheng Radar is deploying weather monitoring tools that provide critical wind and temperature data to ensure drone safety. The expo underscores that the true strength of this sector lies in its integrated network, linking battery development and flight control systems with standardized pilot training.

Innovation extends to the structural integrity of these aircraft, where Jilin Chemical Fiber Group is providing carbon fiber precursors. These materials are molded into corrosion-resistant, lightweight skeletons that maximize flight efficiency for drones and heavy-lift helicopters alike. At the China Henan Aviation Group booth, the focus shifts to real-world utility, showcasing hybrid drones and the heavy-lift Mi-26 helicopters previously utilized in the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake recovery efforts. By bridging the gap between raw material production and field application, the industry is creating a self-sustaining supply chain capable of scaling for both commercial and humanitarian operations.
