By combining Hongli’s established cold roll formed steel manufacturing infrastructure with Sidus’s research into cobalt-free, high-density energy storage, the firms aim to address supply chain gaps in the aerospace, robotics, and electric vehicle sectors. Current discussions include plans for automated production, capacity expansion, and the potential construction of dedicated manufacturing facilities.

Jie Liu, Chairman and CEO of Hongli Group, noted that the partnership is a strategic response to the surging demand for power solutions driven by artificial intelligence and next-generation mobility. Sidus, meanwhile, claims its materials eliminate heavy metals, offering superior performance in charging speed and temperature resilience. While the memorandum remains non-binding, the initiative signals a significant pivot for Hongli, a company that has spent over two decades focused primarily on steel profiles for the mining and construction industries.
