Optoelectronics Net Loss Widens to 287 Million Yen

A sharp downturn in financial performance left Optoelectronics Co. Ltd. facing a net loss of 287 million yen for the half-year period ending May 31, 2026. This figure marks a significant escalation from the 46 million yen loss recorded during the same timeframe in the previous fiscal year.

Optoelectronics Net Loss Widens to 287 Million Yen

Revenue at the Japanese firm slipped to 3.07 billion yen, down from 3.34 billion yen reported in the first half of 2025. The company’s bottom line was further pressured by an operating loss of 164 million yen, nearly doubling the 88 million yen deficit seen a year earlier. Pretax profit followed a similar downward trajectory, falling to a loss of 264 million yen compared to 18 million yen in the prior period. Reflecting these results, earnings per share dropped to a negative 21.73 yen from a negative 7.56 yen. These figures were compiled under Japanese accounting standards.
