Signpost Swings to Profit in First Quarter

Signpost Corp. posted a net profit of 14 million yen for the first quarter ended May 31, marking a sharp reversal from the 24 million yen loss recorded during the same period last year. The Japanese firm’s financial turnaround was supported by a notable increase in quarterly revenue.

Revenue climbed to 908 million yen, up from 702 million yen in the prior year. Despite the top-line growth, the company continued to navigate thin margins, reporting an operating loss of 2 million yen compared to a 19 million yen loss a year earlier. Pretax profit also remained in negative territory at 3 million yen, though this represents a significant improvement over the 23 million yen loss sustained in the previous year. Earnings per share reached 1.13 yen, while the firm maintained its outlook for a 5 yen year-end dividend.
