Zoomcar and Uber integrate intercity booking options in India

Travelers using the Zoomcar platform in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai can now compare self-drive rentals with chauffeur-driven Uber Intercity rides directly within the app. The partnership aims to capture the growing Indian market segment that prioritizes flexible, on-demand mobility over vehicle ownership.

The collaboration integrates two distinct travel styles, allowing users to toggle between the autonomy of a self-drive vehicle and the convenience of being driven. Deepankar Tiwari, CEO of Zoomcar, noted that the move is designed to keep users within the platform regardless of their preference for a specific journey. Uber, meanwhile, is leveraging the partnership to increase the visibility of its Intercity service, which has seen rising demand across both metropolitan hubs and Tier-2 markets.

This shift reflects a broader trend among Indian consumers who increasingly favor access over the financial burden of owning a car. By consolidating these choices, the companies are targeting weekend travelers and families who may require different levels of service depending on the nature of their trip. While the integration is currently limited to three major cities, both firms have indicated intentions to expand the service to additional regions in the coming months.
