Nozomi Networks Launches Compass to Bridge OT Security and Management

Industrial operators often rely on fragmented spreadsheets and IT-centric tools to manage sensitive operational technology, creating a dangerous lag in response to modern cyber threats. Nozomi Networks is now attempting to close this gap with Compass, a platform designed to unify asset data, compliance, and risk governance in one environment.

The platform utilizes the company's existing first-party asset data to provide a real-time system of record, replacing manual tracking methods that fail to keep pace with AI-driven vulnerability discovery. By integrating OT-specific safety windows and process dependencies into its workflows, the tool aims to allow teams to execute changes while maintaining regulatory compliance with frameworks like NERC CIP and NIS2.

Andrea Carcano, CEO and co-founder, stated that the transition to this platform addresses the inadequacy of IT-native tools for industrial environments, where uptime and physical safety remain the primary constraints. The system is designed to feed clean, contextual data into existing enterprise tools, including CMDB and SIEM platforms, without requiring teams to force operational data into IT-shaped workflows. Compass is scheduled for release to customers in January.
