Following extensive technical assessments, MAFAT concluded that the sensors offer the high-resolution perception necessary for complex operational environments where traditional sensing modalities often falter. The recognition focuses on the robustness and scalability of the hardware, which Innoviz originally developed for autonomous vehicle fleets. The company now intends to leverage this endorsement to expand its presence among Western defense customers.
Omer Keilaf, CEO of Innoviz, noted that the company’s focus on Physical AI—measuring and interpreting the physical world at scale—aligns directly with the requirements of modern homeland security. While the recognition marks a milestone for the firm’s Perciz defense brand, the company clarified that this evaluation does not constitute a formal procurement contract or a guarantee of future funding. Innoviz is already moving to supply the technology for field applications, positioning its sensors to address gaps in current spatial awareness and object localization tools.
