Orvana Minerals Pulls Production Guidance Amid Bolivian Delays

Orvana Minerals has officially withdrawn its fiscal 2026 production targets for its Bolivian subsidiary, Emipa, following a sluggish ramp-up at the Don Mario operation. While the company successfully produced its first copper cathodes from stockpiled oxides, mechanical instability has forced management to reset expectations for the coming year.

Orvana Minerals Pulls Production Guidance Amid Bolivian Delays

The milestone follows the production of the site's first gold-silver dore bar, signaling that both metal recovery circuits are now active. Despite this progress, Chief Executive Juan Gavidia acknowledged that the initial weeks of the project have underperformed against internal benchmarks. The company is currently prioritizing mechanical reliability to reach a steady processing rate of 1,700 tons per day.

This retreat in guidance arrives shortly after Orvana slashed its August forecasts, which had already been reduced due to 53 days of civil unrest in Bolivia during May and June. Blockades and strikes crippled regional logistics, severely impacting the supply chain. Orvana now aims to spend the remainder of fiscal 2026 focusing on throughput stability rather than meeting the previous output targets of 4,700 ounces of gold and 2.1 million pounds of copper.
