The 140th Anniversary Set bundles three quintessential tools: CHANNELLOCK 426 6.5-inch tongue-and-groove pliers, a Case Sod Buster Jr. pocket knife, and a signature Zippo windproof lighter, all finished in the distinctive CHANNELLOCK BLUE. This collaboration serves as a tribute to the skilled labor force that has sustained these family-owned businesses for generations.
William S. DeArment, Chairman and CEO of CHANNELLOCK, described the effort as a recognition of the pride inherent in American-made goods. Founded in 1886, his company maintains a workforce of 350 in Meadville, producing over 75 varieties of pliers. Meanwhile, in Bradford, Case and Zippo continue to anchor the regional economy. Case, which has manufactured premium cutlery since 1905, utilizes a process requiring upwards of 100 steps per knife. Zippo, established in 1932, has produced over 650 million lighters, with its current leadership focusing on apprenticeships and university partnerships to secure the future of the local workforce.
