The acquisition centers on high-purity chemicals essential for advanced lithography and microdevice fabrication. Heraeus Epurio has established a niche in producing photoacid generators, monomers, and crosslinkers that meet the extreme purity standards required for modern chip manufacturing. By integrating these assets, Brewer Science aims to secure its supply chain and enhance its capacity for vertical manufacturing.
Dr. Sri Kommu, co-CEO of Brewer Science, described the move as a strategic step in the company’s "Zero Defects" initiative, noting that material quality has become a primary bottleneck in the global semiconductor value chain. Co-CEO Dan Brewer added that the expansion supports a broader strategy of diversification, allowing the company to supply the high-performance materials necessary for increasingly complex technology nodes. The transition includes the transfer of personnel, ensuring that the specialized support previously provided by Heraeus Epurio continues under the Brewer Science banner.
