The collaboration centers on Midjourney Medical’s latest diagnostic hardware, which utilizes 40 individual Butterfly imaging modules per system. The integration marks a significant expansion for the health technology firm, which has been scaling its semiconductor-based ultrasound platform to support advanced medical imaging applications.
This development builds upon a previously disclosed deal between the two firms, which projects up to $74 million in payments to Butterfly over a five-year period. By embedding their technology directly into Midjourney’s scanners, Butterfly continues to pivot toward high-volume licensing agreements within the medical device industry.
