The appointment serves as a pillar of JLL’s Accelerate 2030 strategy, specifically targeting the goal to deepen client relationships. By centralizing leadership, the firm aims to provide corporate clients with a more cohesive advisory experience across their entire real estate portfolios. Christian Ulbrich, JLL’s global CEO, noted that modern clients increasingly rely on fewer, more strategic partners to navigate complex market environments. Gibson will maintain his existing responsibilities through the end of 2026 to facilitate an orderly transition.
Kevin MacKenzie, currently the President of Capital Markets Americas, will succeed Gibson as CEO of Capital Markets, Americas starting January 1, 2027. MacKenzie, a veteran of the firm since 2004, will assume oversight of the capital markets division to ensure continuity. The creation of the Country CEO role does not alter the firm’s global reporting structures for individual business lines, but rather establishes a collaborative layer intended to leverage JLL’s proprietary data and technology-enabled platform more effectively for domestic clients.
